This visual evaluation is of the overall condition of the deteriorated paint that is cracking, flaking, chipping, peeling, chalking, not intact on a property built prior to 1978. This includes a Child-occupied facility that is a building, or portion of a building, constructed prior to 1978. These facilities receive children under the age of 6 on a regular basis as part of their function and are required to obtain a certificate of occupancy as a precondition to performing this function.

These include a preschool, and kindergarten classroom, and child development facility. Dwelling units are also included with this inspection type. A room or group of rooms that form a single independent habitable unit for permanent occupation by one or more individuals, that has living facilities with permanent provisions for living, sleeping, eating, and sanitation. HUD and Post-Renovation Clearance Examination Is an evaluation of a property to determine whether the property is free of any deteriorated lead-based paint and underlying condition, or any lead-based paint hazard such as above level lead-contaminated dust. This includes the testing of lead dust samples. A report is issued for the tested area that specifies the steps taken to ensure the absence of lead-based paint hazards, including confirmation that any encapsulation performed as part of the lead hazard abatement strategy was performed in accordance with DOEE regulations.
